What is a PAADU, in plain language?

The City of Long Beach's Pre-Approved ADU (PAADU) Program offers a small catalog of ADU designs that the city has already reviewed. Choosing a PAADU can shorten plan check time and reduce upfront design cost.

A pre-approved plan still has to be adapted to your specific lot — setbacks, utilities, site access, existing structures. That's where we come in. We handle the site-specific work and the submittal so you get to a permit, not just a PDF.

If a PAADU doesn't fit your lot or your goals, we'll design a fully custom ADU tailored to your site.
